OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:
A GUIDE TO WHAT WE BELIEVE 

As a Bible-believing, Christ-centered, and community-focused church, our faith is rooted in the eternal truths of God's Word. Below is a detailed, but by no means exhaustive, summary of our core doctrines and practices, reflecting our commitment to the historical Baptist faith. We invite you to explore, pray over, and join us in living out these beliefs.

1. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the fully inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God in its original writings. It is the complete revelation of God's will for salvation and the supreme and final authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21).

2. THE GODHEAD (THE TRINITY)

We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each has distinct personal attributes but is without division of nature, essence, or being. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present, holy, loving, and sovereign. (Matthew 28:19, John 14:16-17, Matthew 3:16-17).

3. GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Matthew 6:9-13, John 3:16).

4. JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly God and truly man. We believe in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-20), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), His vicarious and atoning death on the cross as a complete and substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven (Acts 1:9), and His present intercession on behalf of His people as High Priest (Hebrews 7:25). We eagerly anticipate His personal, bodily, and visible return in power and glory. (Acts 1:11, Revelation 1:7).

5. THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, co-equal with the Father and the Son, and that He was active in creation (Genesis 1:2) and revelation (2 Peter 1:21). We believe that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that He regenerates, sanctifies, indwells, seals, and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ for life and service. (John 14:26, Romans 8:9-11).

6. MANKIND & SIN

We believe that mankind was created by God, in His own image, good and upright (Genesis 1:26-27). Through Adam's voluntary transgression, man fell into sin and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings are now born with a sinful nature, are naturally prone to evil, and are, of themselves, unable to remedy their lost condition (Romans 3:23, 5:12).

7. SALVATION

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received by an individual through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is accomplished solely by the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ and is apart from any human merit or works (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10). It involves regeneration (new birth), justification, sanctification, and glorification.

8. THE CHURCH

We believe that the universal Church is the company of all born-again believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. We believe that a local church is a self-governing congregation of immersed believers associated together for worship, service, and fellowship, observing the ordinances and exercising the gifts and privileges invested in them by God's Word (Matthew 16:16-18, Acts 2:42-47). The local church is autonomous under the Lordship of Christ and is not subject to any outside ecclesiastic authority.

9. THE ORDINANCES

We believe that the Scriptural ordinances of the Church are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

• BELIEVER'S BAPTISM: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). It is an act of obedience, signifying the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection to newness of life (Romans 6:3-4). We practice believer's baptism and immersion as the Scriptural form.

• THE LORD'S SUPPER: We believe that the Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience, whereby members memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

10. LAST THINGS (ESCHATOLOGY)

We believe in the personal, bodily, and visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. Those who are in Christ will spend eternity in His presence in Heaven, and those who have rejected Him will spend eternity in conscious punishment in Hell. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 20-22).

11. BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES

We cherish and adhere to historical Baptist principles, which further clarify our understanding and practice:

• SOUL COMPETENCY & THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS: We believe every individual is competent and responsible to God in matters of religion and has direct access to God through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:16, 1 Peter 2:5-9). All believers are ministers called to serve God's mission.

• AUTONOMY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH: We believe that each local congregation is self-governing under the Lordship of Christ and the authority of Scripture, and that it determines its own doctrine, structure, and cooperative affiliations.

• SEPARATION OF CHURCH & STATE: We believe in the friendly separation of church and state, that the state has no authority to dictate in spiritual matters and the church has no authority to use the state to enforce its views. We believe in religious liberty for all.

• RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: We advocate for the rights of all individuals to worship God according to the dictates of their own conscience without state interference.

• CONGREGATIONAL GOVERNMENT: We believe the local church should govern itself through a direct relationship between its members and the Lord Jesus, as they seek to discern His will through prayer and the Word together.
