Atmosphere for Worship

At Neabsco Baptist Church, we believe that the worship experience begins the moment you step through our doors.

Guided by Psalm 84:10—"I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness"—our Usher Board serves as the dedicated guardians and ambassadors of the sanctuary.

Serving with dignity, grace, and a joyful spirit, our ushers are essential to maintaining an atmosphere of reverence, order, and warm hospitality. They work diligently behind the scenes and in the aisles so that every congregant and visitor can focus fully on the presence of God and the preaching of the Word without distraction.

Our Core Focus Areas:

• Welcoming & Guiding: Greeting worshipers with Christ-like love, providing programs, and seamlessly guiding members and honored guests to comfortable seating.

• Sanctuary Stewardship: Facilitating the smooth and orderly flow of service elements, including the gathering of tithes and offerings, assisting with communion, and guiding movement during altar calls.

• Attentive Care: Remaining vigilant and compassionate to the needs of the congregation—whether offering a comforting smile, providing a fan, or calmly and efficiently assisting with any unexpected needs or emergencies.

To be an usher is to practice the art of silent evangelism. It is a high and holy calling of service. If you possess a welcoming spirit, a heart for people, and a desire to serve God by maintaining the peace and joy of His house, we invite you to take your place at the doors with us.
